Mason Terry has left Braintree to join Port Vale on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old goalkeeper impressed last season on loan at Braintree in the National League.
What happened?
Mason Terry won the Braintree Town Supporters’ Player of the Year award, keeping 12 clean sheets across 41 appearances in all competitions for Steve Pitt’s side.
He also claimed 16 player of the match awards and scored a dramatic equaliser in Braintree’s National League Cup game at Truro City, in January.
Why it matters for Braintree
Braintree boss Steve Pitt said: ‘Inevitable progression for Mason and well deserved. The lad is a consummate professional and works as hard as possible to assist his progression’.
Braintree are currently 23rd in the National League, with 36 points from 46 games, and have lost their last 5 matches, including a 5-1 defeat to Tamworth on April 25, 2026.
What comes next?
Mason Terry will look to make an impact at Port Vale, who are newcomers to League Two, while Braintree will aim to improve their form and move up the National League table. With 38 goals scored and 76 conceded, Braintree have a goal difference of -38, and are 72 points behind leaders York. As the new season approaches, Braintree will be looking to strengthen their squad and improve their performances, after a disappointing last result, and a recent form of 0W-0D-5L, with their last 5 matches ending in defeat.
