Braintree Town has announced the departure of striker Lewis Walker, who will join Kidderminster Harriers on July 1. Walker spent one season at Braintree, scoring 10 goals in the National League. The 27-year-old striker, son of England legend Des Walker, will leave the Iron upon the expiration of his contract. Walker started his career at Ilkeston in Derbyshire before signing for Derby County in 2016. After being released by the Rams in 2018, he joined Queens Park Rangers in April 2019. Walker was released in the summer of 2020 and moved to Italian side Como, also playing for Athletic Carpi in Italy before returning to England with a move to Gillingham in the summer of 2022. He made 29 appearances for the Gills, scoring four times before joining National League side Woking on a permanent basis in January 2024. Walker joined Braintree last summer and impressed in his only season for the club, despite the Iron's relegation to National League South. The move to Kidderminster Harriers marks a new chapter in Walker's career, as he becomes Paul Wotton's latest signing.
